Abstract
This paper presents two algorithms: one for sensor runout compensation, and the other
for compensation of both sensor runout and mass unbalance in magnetic bearings. The
algorithms, developed using Lyapunov's method, guarantee asymptotic stability of
the rotor geometric center about the origin and convergence of unknown parameters
using persistent excitation. Both algorithms have advantages over existing methods.
Simulation results are presented to demonstrate efficacy of the algorithms.
