Two-Tier Approaches with a Knowledge Base for Modelling Flexible Manufacturing Systems

Abstract
A two-tier approach for modelling a flexible manufacturing system is presented and simulated. A knowledge base is introduced to work with two-tier approaches for a complicate manufacturing system. The results of computer simulation demonstrate that the two-tier approach works well with a knowledge base for the modelling of a flexible manufacturing system. A comparison has been made with a queueing method.
