Purpose

The purpose of this biennial IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), following the footsteps of the first one in Tokyo, Japan, in 1997, is to promote activities in various areas of mechatronics by providing a forum for exchange of ideas, presentation of technical achievements, and discussion of future directions.

The theme of the conference is informatics in mechatronics

Quality papers will be considered for publication in the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics.  The conference format is three days of paper presentations (three to four parallel tracks) and one day of workshops and tutorials.

Topics

System Integration, Actuators and Sensors, Intelligent Control, Robotics, Machine Vision, Manufacturing, Motion Control, Vibration and Noise Control, Micro Devices and Opto-Electronic Systems, Automotive Systems, Intelligent Systems, Industry Applications and other applications including new frontier fields of Intelligent Mechatronics such as Fusion of Mechanical Systems, Communication Technology, Bio-mechatronics, and Artificial Intelligence.

Paper Submission

Prospective authors should submit six copies of the manuscript in full paper style, complete with abstract, references, and illustrations to the nearest Program Co-chair by mail, indicating a corresponding author whose name, affiliation, address, phone/fax numbers and e-mail address should be clarified on the first page of the manuscript. The length of the manuscript is limited to a maximum of six pages in Proceedings, and it should preferably be written in IEEE format (see http://www.ieee.org/pubs/authors.ht ml for instructions). The final manuscript should be submitted in electronic form (.ps or .pdf format) since the Proceedings will be published in CD-ROM instead of paper medium. Abstracts will be collected into a bound volume available at the conference.
