Intelligent Mechatronics
Research Laboratory (AIMRL) |
AIMRL, administered by Professor Kok-Meng Lee in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech, has been established to develop concepts, algorithms, theories, and methodologies for synergistic integration of precision mechanical engineering with advanced electronics and computer control in the design and manufacture of intelligent products and processes. Research projects are conducted in several locations including the Manufacturing Research Center and the Food Processing Technology Building. Additionally, experiments involving live animals are conducted at the University of Georgia; measurements of 3D magnetic field are at SIMTech/NTU in Singapore; and theories/ numerical methods for predicting the free surface flow of optic fibers is made possible with data from industries such as OFS (formerly Lucent).
