Dr. Kok-Meng Lee ASME Fellow, IEEE Fellow


Dr. Kok-Meng Lee received his B. S. degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1980 and earned his S. M. and Ph. D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982 and 1985 respectively.  Since 1985, Dr. Lee has been a faculty with the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Currently, he is a Professor in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. His research interests include system dynamics/control, robotics, automation, and mechatronics. He holds eight patents in machine vision, three degrees of freedom (DOF) spherical motor/encoder, and live-bird handling system.

Dr. Lee is Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. He received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Presidential Young Investigator, Sigma Xi Junior Faculty Research, International Hall of Fame New Technology, and Kayamori Best Paper awards.
